Reclamation District 800 (Byron Tract)

RD 800, comprising approximate IV 6,933 acres, includes a majority of the unincorporated community of Discovery Bay, surrounding agricultural lands and public facilities. The District provides flood protection

to approximately 3,718 properties, including 3,390 residential parcels and 26 non-taxable parcels. The

District maintains 18.9 miles of levees. RD 800 receives property tax revenues on improved properties

and agricultural lands, providing about 45 to 50 percent of overall revenues. RD 800 has assessment fee

revenue of approximately 40 to 45 percent. The District's levees currently provide lOO-year flood protection. Consultants to the District are currently developing cost estimates for projects necessary to

bring the District up to 200-year flood protection status. In December 2013, Contra Costa County approved the Pantages Bay project which will include the construction of 292 homes. Eventual annexation to RD 800 and the Town of Discovery Bay Community Services District would be required to...
